- Lockout/Tagout for Repairs: Any damaged or malfunctioning tool should be immediately removed from service and clearly marked to prevent use. When not removed, they can cause severe injuries that may impact the everyday lives of those impacted.
- Prevent Electrical Incidents: Preventing electric shock is important even when using simple tools. To ensure they are maintained properly, regularly inspect all power cords and extension cords to look for damage, and replace them when damage is found. Unplug power tools from the power source before changing blades or making any other adjustments.
- Use Double-Insulated or Grounded Tools: Prevent injuries when doing electrical work on the job by using a grounded, double-insulated cord with three wires.
